Sept. 4th awards night/ washroom fundraiser guest speaker set!

With over 335 young ball players registered with SCMB, and the addition of our “AA” program to our already successful, yet busy, “AAA” program in the recent years, our washroom facilities can no longer keep up with the demand. We normally have many players on the numerous diamonds on 19th ave NE, and with only one washroom for ladies and one for men, there is always a lineup. As a SCMB board, it was decided to host a washroom expansion fundraiser this year, in conjunction with our annual Awards night to be held Sept. 4th at the Iplex Auditorium. We would like to add 3 more washrooms to both sides to make it a total of 4 washrooms for ladies and men. We don’t normally have a fundraiser alongside our annual awards night, but do realize that we need to expand the washrooms on 19th ave.NE. We are budgeting approximately $25000.00 for this project. Of course with any fundraiser we want to keep our costs down to a minimum. With the help from some key community minded sponsors we hoping to raise the funds needed to start this project.

SCMB is proud to announce that our guest speaker for this years Awards night/ Washroom expansion fundraiser will be Ernie Witt, former Toronto Blue Jay, and Current manager of the Canadian National Baseball team. Please open link below for more info on Ernie Whitt.

Annual awards night nominations needed!

Good Afternoon SCMBA Players, Coaches and Parents

I hope that everyone had a terrific season of baseball. The purpose of this email is to remind you about an upcoming event and to remind you to submit your SCMBA nominations for the 2018 baseball season.

In the fall of 2015, the Swift Current Minor Baseball Association decided to begin hosting an end of year Coaches and Awards Banquet to recognize and to thank the many excellent volunteer’s, coaches, umpires and players in our organization. We have had three very successful AGMs and this year is shaping up to be another success.

A written nomination may be submitted to the SCMBA executive by a parent, player, coaching staff, or from any other member of our association. The AGM and Awards Night will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 5:30PM in the banquet room at the Credit Union Iplex. Our event sponsor will be Innovation Credit Union. Tickets will be available for purchase from any SCMBA board member or coach.

Please review the sheet below for all the awards information and criteria and please remember to nominate a player, coach or official that you feel has had an outstanding season. Nominations are due Friday, August 10, 2018 and can be sent to any SCMB Board Member. Please let me know if you have any questions about our event!
