View the attached letter from Tom Christianson, U11 AA Coach, regarding tryout and season information for the 2022 U11 AA team
Dear Parents and Guardians,
My name is Tom Christianson and I will be the Head Coach for this year’s U11 AA Swift Current 57’s season. I am very excited to be back coaching the provincial team and looking forward to working with your kids and developing their baseball skills even stronger. We will be playing in the Regina AA League competing with teams around the Regina area. We will also be playing in the Regina AA tournament on May 13th-15th, a tournament in Saskatoon June 10th-12th, and we will host our own tournament in July. Our last weekend of ball is when we go to provincials on July 15th-17th. (Not host city as of yet).
This season I will be coaching alongside 2 former players who played minor baseball in Swift Current from the age of 5 until they were done last year in the U18 division. They are both very good baseball players who competed at all levels of provincial teams, they love the game, and are fantastic working with young baseball players. Your players are very lucky to have these young men helping out. I may also be asking a parent(s) to assist as well.
We will practice every Tuesday and Thursday starting on April 19th.
Tryouts will be on April 12th and 13th from 5:30 to 7:30 at the 2 Mosquito Diamonds on 19th Ave NE. All 2011, 2012, and 2013 players are welcome to try out for the team but must be registered with Swift Current Minor Baseball before the tryout start date. Players and parents will be notified if they are on the team on the night of the 13th. We will be having a parent/coach meeting to review the season prior to our first practice.
If your player is interested in trying out for the U11 AA team, please email me at tomchristianson@hotmail.com. Please also let me know which team your player was on last season if they played baseball at all.
If you have any questions about scheduling, tournaments, tryouts, or anything else, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
