How do I become a coach?
Swift Current Minor Baseball has implemented a policy in 2012, that all rep coaches, 11U and up, must complete the coach’s development program that Swift Current Minor Baseball offers in partnership With Baseball Sask and Baseball Canada.
1. Initiation Coaches Clinic - Online Component
To coach a team for Swift Current Minor Baseball, you need to complete the Initiation Coaches Clinic. There are two components to this; an online component and an in-class component.
All Coaches must register for an account on the Baseball Canada NCCP website (https://nccp.baseball.ca/) to access baseball NCCP content. Once you have registered for an account all NCCP content will be listed on the STATUS page. Registration for in person clinics is also listed on the CLINICS page. You must complete the online component before you can register for the class component.
There are 2 online modules that all coaches must complete to be eligible to register for the in person clinics - Coach Initiation in Sport and Coach Initiation in Baseball Fundamentals. Online clinics must be completed on a desktop or laptop computer. Mobile phones will not work for online clinics.
All coaches must be registered and paid online as clinics are submitted electronically to the Coaches Association directly from the Baseball NCCP website - coaches will not get credit for attending clinics if they are not registered on the website. That said, we are pleased to offer coaches of Swift Current Minor Baseball a full credit for the cost of the course upon proof of completion. Please reach out to your division coordinator for further details.
