*Please be advised that a $40 non-refundable fee applies for tryouts (collected once cash or cheque at the time of training) that is not included in your registration fees. This covers the cost for all tryouts for your division per registrant; this means that the $40 payment is required for the first tryout session that you attend and waived for subsequent sessions. A member of Swift Current Minor Baseball will be on site to confirm payment has been received or to take payment.
Welcome everyone to the 2025 18U AAA Swift Current 57’s baseball season. This team is open to all players born from 2007 to 2009. We hope to see all returning players, as well as new players that have moved up from 15U, and of course any new ball players that would like an opportunity to be evaluated to play on this competitive team. Hopefully you have been preparing already for tryouts throughout the winter. In preparation for selecting this season’s team, we will be running 3 skill based sessions during 3 consecutive Sundays.
Playing AAA baseball aims to compete at the highest level available. With our entry into the AAA league, the expectation from our players is to be committed to the team for the entirety of the season.
Practices will be held on Tuesday/Thursday with times to be announced. Our schedule consists of 30 games (15 home and 15 away), starting in May and concluding at the end of July. We will be partaking in the Sask Selects tournament being held in Estevan May 16-19, 2025, as well as the Medicine Hat Knights Tournament that is held in Medicine Hat May 30 to June 1, 2025. A third tournament is currently being finalized.
The annual 18U AAA Provincial tournament is typically held on the 3rd weekend of July, with a host site yet to be determined. We will be required to earn a spot in this tournament, and teams will be determined by placing in the top 8 positions of the league standings.
Evaluations for this years team will be held on three separate Sundays. March 16th will be at the Prime Training Facility @7:00-9:00, March 23rd will be at the Stockade @8:15-10:00pm and March 30th back at the Prime Facility @7:00-9:00. (Please bring all necessary equipment for the positions you wish to tryout for. Attire for the sessions can be shorts or sweats)
